This Morning fans were upset when the show was cut short for the budget.

At the start of Thursday’s installment of the ITV programme, hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield told viewers they would end earlier than usual, ending at 11.15am instead of the usual 12.30pm.

The show also tweeted: “We have a slightly shorter show for you today as we’ll hand over to ITV News for budget coverage at 11.15am but we’re with you on ITV1 and STV until then . , then join us!”

However, many viewers were annoyed by the move to watch Chancellor Jeremy Hunt unveil his autumn statement and said they would have preferred to stick with the day’s favourite.

“We’ll put it back then, we have many options to watch the budget if we want…” one person tweeted.

Another said: ‘So they put #ThisMorning on for the #AutumnBudget why not keep the news on the news channels, there’s enough of it.’

“I needed to feel good today and not see any depressing news, someone else said.

One person wrote: ‘Raise your hand if you’d rather have an hour more of #ThisMorning than media coverage of the Chancellor’s statement.

They then added a GIF that read, “That would be me.”

‘Don’t we have news channels and the BBC if we want to watch the budget,’ asked another weary viewer.
