Tamron Hall, former MSNBC presenter and host of the “Today” show, said there was no rivalry between her and Kelly Clarkson, despite the two launching new daytime talk shows on the same. day.
In an interview with GoodHousekeeping.com, Tamron, 48, made it clear that there was no tension between her and the “American Idol” alum.
“There is no one-on-one,” Tamron explained. “Anyone who writes, ‘oh, there’s a battle’ is just looking for a title. Kelly Clarkson is going to have a phenomenal show and I’m not just saying that, I’m saying it because I’m a fan of her on ‘American Idol’, and she’s a fun loving person.
The two shows, “Tamron Hall” and “The Kelly Clarkson Show”, premiere Monday, September 9.

In Tamron’s interview, she also opened up about her dramatic departure from the “Today” show in February 2017 and how she left her job with her head held high.
“On the outside it looked like everything was together,” she said. “Look at her, she comes out with her head held high. My head will never be bowed, but I had to pray that I wouldn’t be broken. We’re not the biggest job we’ve landed. We are not, even with motherhood, I love my son … [but] even he is not the total sum of my trip… I am not Tamron from the show ‘Today’. I am Tamron.
