Sherri Shepherd’s daytime talk show will premiere in the fall
Sherri Shepherd’s new daytime talk show, titled “Sherri,” will premiere Sept. 12, Lionsgate announced Tuesday.
“September 12 can’t happen fast enough,” the former ‘The View’ co-host said in a statement. “Hosting my own talk show is a dream come true and I’m so excited to take viewers on this joyous journey. My new show will be something really fun and fresh, a daily hour of entertaining escapism with lots of laughs , fun and flirtation as I give my perspective on pop culture. And I’m so happy to have such an amazing senior production team helping to make that magic happen.
Each day, Shepherd will perform in front of a live audience from New York’s Chelsea Studios to give their take on pop culture. There will be plenty of background talk throughout the day, including celebrity and human interest interviews.
Shepherd’s nationally broadcast talk show will appear on stations covering more than 97% of homes in the United States, according to Lionsgate’s Debmar-Mercury.
The show will be anchored by Fox TV stations and includes stations owned by Cox, Hearst, Sinclair and Nexstar.
David Perler will present and produce the talk show. Shepherd and his producing partner, Jawn Murray, will also serve as executive producers, with Suzanne Bass, Joelle Dawson and Fernita Wynn joining as co-executive producers.
“Sherri is a perfect fit for daytime audiences because she relates to people in such a natural way,” Perler said. “Having worn so many hats over the years between her career, motherhood, fitness journey and other accomplishments, Sherri brings a mix of fun, laughs and valuable, genuine advice to viewers.”
