Mountain statesman | Flemington Events and Festivals Welcomes Community to Craft Show

FLEMINGTON — The leaves have changed color and started their peaceful descent from the trees and a cold has started to fill the air, reminding residents that winter is coming soon to the area.

Often during this time of year, individuals look to the upcoming holiday season and start looking forward to craft shows as a way to find the perfect handmade and homemade gift locally.

Residents won’t have to look any further, as Flemington Events and Festivals is proud to announce that they will be hosting a Craft and Vendor Fair this Saturday, November 6th.

The festivities are scheduled for 9:00 a.m. and show guests will be treated to not only creative creations, but also delicious treats until 4:00 p.m.

“Make sure you come hungry, as we’ll be serving bean and cornbread soup, as well as hot dogs and corndogs,” said Vicki Greathouse, member of Flemington Events and Festivals. “Food will be available on site and to take away. “

The Craft Fair will have something for everyone with confirmations from artisans and craftspeople offering different work supports, as well as some sellers from well-known businesses.

“We have primitives, wreaths, woodwork, homemade dog treats, handcrafted jewelry and so much more,” Greathouse commented.

And not only will the fair be the perfect place for individuals to start their Christmas shopping early, Flemington Events and Festivals will also be offering a raffle that will include various gift baskets.

“We have some great baskets that people can bid on,” Greathouse shared. “We’ll have a packing basket to help prepare someone for their gift-wrapping season, as well as a fall basket, to name a few. But don’t worry, there will be plenty more! You will only have to come to the craft fair to find out what will be there!

She revealed that during the day, a lucky winner will even claim a $ 100 Walmart gift card to be raffled off.

All proceeds from the event will be used by Flemington Events and Festivals for this year’s Tree Lighting and Giveaway event.

Last year’s event saw the city’s very first Christmas tree lighting, something many residents of Flemington were happy to witness.

During the event, guests were treated to free hot chocolate, cider, cookies, candy and Christmas music, including live performances by local singers. In addition, people gathered to announce the winners of various gift card draws.

Surely it was a record book event, and Greathouse shared that they are hoping for another spectacular tree lighting this holiday season.

“The Craft and Vendor Show is a great way to help local vendors, artisans and craftspeople, while also helping to ensure that this year’s tree lighting and gift event is even bigger and better. than before, ”said Greathouse. “We hope you will join us for this fun day! See you at the show! “
