Kym Marsh trades the cobblestones of Weatherfield for crime, like the old one Coronation Street The star has signed up for a brand new BBC series devoted to “romance fraud”.
Almost six months after announcing his break from the role of Corrieby Michelle Connor, Kym is set to present a five-part daytime series titled For love or money alongside Ashley John-Baptiste.
Each episode of For love or money will see Kym and Ashley investigate a romance fraud case, where unsuspecting online daters were sadly duped with their own money.
In something that wouldn’t seem out of place on Coronation Street itself, Kym and Ashley will showcase the sophisticated techniques used by fraudsters to manipulate other people into draining their bank accounts, offering advice to viewers and solving cases at the same time.
By promising to uncover the underhand tactics of criminals and to expose their lies to unsuspecting victims, For love or money should be not only a revealing look at “romance fraud” but also a bit of a crime-solving attempt.

“I want to do something else. I want to play another character and test what I can do. I am by no means saying that I will never go back, but I need to flex my acting muscles.”
