Actress Niecy Nash already has a hell of a resume. The 50-year-old has shown us her acting skills for years on shows like Reno 911!, Claws and I have never. And of course, his roles in When they see us and Mrs. America showcase his considerable dramatic talents. Now, the talented artist is set to host a daytime talk show, with CBS Television Distribution reportedly in talks with Nash about a possible syndicated gig.

According to Hollywood journalist, a presentation of the potential series will be filmed shortly. CTD is also late The Drew Barrymore Show, which apparently is one thing!

It wouldn’t be Nash’s first time hosting a hosting concert. She won a Daytime Emmy for her work hosting Style Network’s Clean house, and also hosted guests Today and Access Hollywood Live.

Nash will also join a talented but too short list of black women who have soloed their own daytime talk shows. Wendy Williams and Tamron Hall currently have their own eponymous shows. Before them were Queen Latifah, Keke Palmer (who at 20 hosted the short-lived “Just Keke” in 2014), Tyra Banks and the incomparable Oprah Winfrey.

If Nash and CTD strike a deal, it will mark another highlight of what has been a truly successful year for the actress, who married singer Carole Denise Betts in a surprise wedding last August. Nash had never spoken publicly about his same-sex relationship before that.

Earlier this week, Nash responded to a fan who asked her what she thought of anti-gay supporters discouraged by her recent marriage.

“If I lost a fan because of who I love, then that wasn’t a real fan,” Nash wrote in the comments section of an Instagram post (h / t Gasoline). “Who / how I love has nothing to do with my art. I’m still a talented, Emmy nominated actress.

Niecy Nash Daytime Talk Show in the works at CBS TV DistributionTheWrap

Comedian and actress Niecy Nash, the star of comedic hits like “Reno 911” and “Claws”, is set to become the latest star to launch her own daytime talk show.

According to a person familiar with the situation, CBS Television Distribution is preparing to shoot a pilot presentation for the show with James Corden’s Fulwell73. If the show were to go ahead, it would join a roster that included the recently launched “Drew Barrymore Show” and the mainstays “Judge Judy” and “Dr. Phil.”

CBS TV Distribution declined to comment on its development list.

Daytime talk shows have taken off in recent years with new hits like “The Kelly Clarkson Show” by NBCUniversal and “Tamron Hall” by ABC. The Clarkson show debuted last year as the most successful new talk show in nearly a decade.

When CBS-produced “The Drew Barrymore Show” aired last month, it did so with respectable ratings, increasing its admissions and generating triple-digit growth in a number of major markets.

For Nash, the new project adds to an already busy schedule, following a string of trendy TV projects including Netflix’s “Never Have I Ever,” “Mrs. America ”and“ When They See Us ”from last year, for which she won a nomination as a leading actress at the 2019 Emmy Awards.

The Hollywood Reporter first reported the news of Nash’s show.
